DriveDry reads one NOAA tide gauge and uses rough estimates for each route. It can't see rain, wind-driven water, or road closures. Never drive through flood water.

NOAA flood stages
Official National Weather Service stages for Sewells Point (station 8638610), in feet above MLLW. Every route trigger starts from one of these.
How DriveDry decides
- Red (At risk): the latest NOAA reading is at or above your route's trigger.
- Yellow (Watch): the water is within 0.5 ft of the trigger, or is forecast to reach it in the next 6 hours.
- Green (Clear): everything else.
- Triggers are approximate. Each one is a NOAA flood stage plus a rough guess. They are not measured road heights.
- Estimate line: NOAA's predictions only cover the normal tide. We add the extra water we see right now (observed minus predicted) and fade it to zero over 24 hours.
- Safe again at: the first time the estimate drops below the trigger, plus 30 minutes for roads to drain.
